Our Principal

Mr. Dominic Cummings is honored to serve as principal of Henderson Middle School beginning July 1, 2026. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he is a proud supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Lakers, and Atlanta Falcons. Joining Henderson is especially meaningful, as his family has deep roots in Jackson, where his nephew and niece are both students at the school.

Mr. Cummings is the middle child of seven siblings and the proud father of his daughter, Paislee. His upbringing taught him the value of service, leadership, and setting a positive example. After high school, he earned a football scholarship to attend Alabama A&M University, where he received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. During that time, he also served in the United States Army, strengthening his discipline and commitment to service.

With 17 years of experience in education across Texas, Alabama, and Georgia, Mr. Cummings has served as a teacher, reading coach, School Improvement Coach, STEM Coordinator, Assessment Leader, Athletic Director, and Assistant Principal. He is also currently a Ph.D. candidate in Educational Leadership at the University of West Georgia.

As a servant leader, he is committed to supporting staff, empowering students, and building strong partnerships with families and the community. His goal is to ensure Henderson students are prepared for success in high school and beyond through strong academics, leadership opportunities, and real-world experiences.
