Hello! My name is Alicia Gentle, and I am excited to be teaching 8th Grade Georgia History at Henderson Middle School!
Henderson has been a special part of my journey for many years. I began my career here as a paraprofessional while attending college to earn my teaching degree. After four years as a para, I stepped into the classroom as a teacher in 2015, and I am excited to begin my 11th year of teaching during the 2026–2027 school year.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and my Master’s degree from Georgia College in Milledgeville. I am currently continuing my education at Liberty University, where I am working toward my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Curriculum and Instruction.
Outside of the classroom, my family is my absolute favorite place to be! I am married to my high school sweetheart of 22 years, and together we have five beautiful children—four girls and one boy. I also have a two-year-old niece who is easily one of my favorite little people on the planet! On the weekends, you can usually find our family at a volleyball tournament cheering on our youngest daughter.
We are die-hard Georgia Bulldog fans in our house—there’s nothing finer in the land than a true Georgia Bulldog fan! ❤️🖤 We also love spending time outdoors fishing, camping, swimming, playing pickleball and volleyball, and simply being together. If my husband and kids are there, that’s where I want to be!
I absolutely love the beach, and there aren't many things better than relaxing with a good book while listening to the ocean waves. That being said, give me a good book and a warm, cozy fire, and I'm just as happy! I am also a self-proclaimed true crime junkie and love true crime podcasts and books.
I am looking forward to a fantastic 2026–2027 school year and am excited to share my love of Georgia history with my students. I can't wait for a year filled with learning, growth, and plenty of fun along the way!
